Before Scheduling Pool Table Service

A few accurate details before the appointment help us quote the work correctly, bring the right materials and avoid surprises on service day.

Good preparation starts before the appointment. Pool tables vary by size, construction, slate type, access requirements and condition. Photos and a few basic details can make the difference between a rough estimate and a quote built around your actual table.

Information We Need for an Accurate Quote

You do not need to know everything about the table. Send what you know, and photos can often answer the rest.

Table Information

  • Manufacturer or brand, if known
  • Table size — usually 7, 8 or 9 feet
  • One-piece or three-piece slate, if known
  • Current condition and requested service

Helpful inspection clues: On many tables, support cross-beams positioned beneath the slate seams are a clue that the table uses three-piece slate. You can also gently reach into a pocket opening and feel underneath the cloth edge—without pulling on it—to see whether the cloth is glued directly to the slate or stapled to wood backing. These details and underside photos help us identify the table’s construction and installation method, although they are not absolute proof by themselves.

Location & Access

  • City or ZIP code
  • Stairs at pickup or destination
  • Tight hallways, turns or unusual access
  • For moves, both pickup and delivery cities

Photos

Photos of the complete table, manufacturer plate or logo, underside/frame when accessible, rails, pockets and any damaged areas help identify construction and potential repair needs.

Cloth & Repair Choices

If refelting is involved, tell us whether you are considering recreational cloth, Championship or Simonis. Also mention dead rails, damaged pockets, slate problems or other issues you want evaluated.

How to Prepare the Room for Service

Clear the TableRemove balls, cues, racks, covers, decorations and personal items before the appointment.
Create Working SpaceClear enough room around the table for rails, slate work, cloth installation and leveling.
Clear the PathFor moves, make sure hallways, doors, stairs and the route between the table and vehicle are accessible.
Finish Flooring FirstIf carpet or flooring is being replaced, complete that work before final pool table installation whenever possible.
Plan the Final PositionKnow where you want the table before assembly. Moving an assembled three-piece slate table afterward can disturb seams and level.
Allow Enough TimeProfessional service is precision work. Moves, repairs, refelting and leveling can take several hours depending on the table and scope.

Before Buying a Used Pool Table

Look Beyond the Purchase Price

A low-priced or free table can still require professional disassembly, transportation, reassembly, new cloth, cushion rubber, pockets or slate repairs. Evaluate the complete installed cost.

Get Photos Before You Commit

Ask the seller for full-table photos, the manufacturer name, rail and pocket condition, underside/frame photos if possible, and any known damage. This can reveal issues before you arrange transportation.

Planning Around Flooring

Carpet and padding can compress, floating floors can move, and rubber or interlocking flooring can settle under concentrated table-leg weight. The supporting floor can affect level after installation, so tell us about unusual flooring before service.

Check Room Size & Cue Clearance

Confirm the table will fit with enough space for normal cueing on every side. The playing-surface dimensions, not just the outside cabinet, determine table size.

Check the Route Into the Room

Stairs, landings, doorways and tight turns matter, especially with one-piece slate or unusual table construction. Share access details before scheduling so the move can be planned correctly.
