What Goes Into a Proper Slate Pool Table Installation?
A slate pool table is more than a piece of furniture that gets bolted together. The frame must be stable, slate sections need to be positioned and aligned correctly, seams must be properly prepared, and the complete playing surface needs to be leveled before the table is ready for play.
Depending on the table and its condition, assembly may include cabinet or frame setup, slate installation, slate seam work, existing or new cloth installation, rail and pocket installation, and final precision leveling.
We also look for issues that can affect the finished table, including loose hardware, damaged components, worn cushions, slate damage, previous repair work and flooring conditions that may affect stability.
Assembly With New or Existing Pool Table Cloth
If the existing cloth is in good condition and was removed carefully, it may sometimes be reused during assembly. Condition, age and how the cloth was previously installed all matter.
Assembly is also an ideal time to install fresh cloth because the table is already apart. Pool Table Masters offers recreational and intermediate cloth, Championship options and premium Simonis worsted cloth.
Leveling Matters
A table can look perfectly assembled and still roll poorly. Our installation process includes careful leveling using machinist levels rather than relying on a carpenter’s level or appearance alone.
