Why Does My Pool Table Roll Unevenly?
A ball that consistently drifts to one side can indicate an out-of-level playing surface, but the cause may be the table setup, settling flooring, frame movement or the slate itself.
How Can I Tell If the Cushions Are Worn Out?
Sluggish rebounds, dead spots, unusual bank angles or a dull impact sound can point toward hardened, loose or deteriorated cushion rubber — but loose rail bolts and incorrect installation can produce similar symptoms.
What Causes Loose or Wrinkled Pool Table Cloth?
Loose areas and wrinkles can result from improper tension, attachment problems, age, previous installation methods or environmental changes. Cloth should remain smooth and securely attached during normal play.
Can Damaged Pool Table Slate Be Repaired?
Many edge chips, pocket-area damage, screw-hole problems and seam imperfections can be repaired during professional service. Major structural cracks or badly compromised slate may require a different solution.
If the Table Is Out of Level, Find Out Why
Professional leveling corrects the playing surface, but a lasting result also depends on what is supporting the table. A level reading is only part of the diagnosis.
Flooring Changes Can Affect Pool Table Level
Recently Installed or Moved Table
A heavy slate pool table places substantial weight on relatively small contact points. Some flooring systems need time to compress or settle after the table is installed. If the table changes slightly soon afterward, the floor should be considered before assuming the original leveling was incorrect.
Rubber & Interlocking Flooring
Heavy-duty rubber tiles, interlocking gym flooring and similar materials can compress differently beneath individual legs. Re-leveling may be appropriate after the material has settled, but repeated adjustment too early can chase a moving surface.

Slate, rails, cushion rubber and internal frame problems often cannot be evaluated or corrected properly without partial disassembly.
The Problem Affects Multiple Systems
Uneven roll combined with poor rail response, loose cloth or seam problems may point to a table that needs a complete setup evaluation rather than one isolated repair.
The Table Was Recently Moved
Improper moving can disturb slate seams, frame alignment, rail installation and leveling. Three-piece slate tables should not be pushed or dragged around the room as an assembled unit.
